This original guinomi was specially commissioned from Bunzan Kiln in Arita. The cherry blossom motif is decorated by hand using sometsuke and icchin techniques. Icchin is a traditional decorative technique in which glaze is applied in raised lines, giving parts of the design a three-dimensional expression. In Japan, cherry blossoms are associated with celebrations and new beginnings.
At 40 mm in diameter, it is a compact cup that can be used for Japanese sake as well as Chinese or Taiwanese tea. The paulownia wood box also makes it suitable for gifting.

有田の文山窯に直接オーダーして制作した、KIRIオリジナルのぐい呑みです。桜の紋様を、染付といっちんの技法を用いて一客ずつ手仕事で施しています。いっちんは、釉薬を立体的に盛り上げながら描く伝統技法で、文様に凹凸のある表情を生み出します。桜は祝いの場や新しい門出を思わせる文様です。
直径40mmの小ぶりなサイズで、日本酒のぐい呑みとしてはもちろん、中国茶や台湾茶の小さな茶杯としてもお使いいただけます。桐箱入りで、ご自身用にも贈り物にも選びやすい一客です。
